Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have shot into a vehicle carrying two expatriate workers in Sagamu, Ogun State, killing one and abducted another.
The expatriates who were said to be Germans working for a construction company, Julius Berger, were attacked last Friday on their way to Ogbere in Ijebu East Local government area of the state.
The Nation learnt that the expatriates were going to a quarry site in Ogbere when the gunmen waylaid them, shot one dead and kidnapped the other.
A source at Julius Berger said the victims are sub-contractors at the construction company.
The source said, “One expatriate, a sub-contractor to Julius Berger, was shot and has subsequently died, while the other expatriate, a staff of Julius Berger, has been abducted.
“Julius Berger is currently working in close cooperation with the Nigerian authorities to make certain the safe and prompt release of the person abducted.”
