The acting
provost of the College of Education (Technical) in Zamfara State ,Dr. Bello Ahmed has been
jailed for 5 years by a Zamfara State High Court for collecting double Duty
Tour Allowance from the college for an official trip to attend a board meeting
of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, while also collecting an equal
amount as DTA from JAMB, which includes sitting allowances, all totalling
N385,000.00.
The Independent Corrupt Practices
and Other Related Offences Commission who had arraigned Ahmed warned public servants to desist from collecting double DTA
from their agencies and also receiving or demanding same in cash or facilities.
